Order of Southern Cross, commander
Originally known as the Imperial order of the Southern Cross and founded on December the 1st, 1822 by Emperor Dom Pedro I of Brazil. Upon the establishment of the United States of Brazil, the order was abolished by decree on February 21st, 1891 but reestablished by President Getulio Vargas on December 5th, 1932. Both types, were and are only, awarded to outstanding foreigners and, civil or military, who have earned the gratitude of the brazilian government.
Condition: Good, some enamel damages on the points on the cross arms.
