US Navy Cross
The Navy Cross was established by Act of Congress and approved on 4th of February, 1919. The Navy Cross is US military´s second-highest decoration awarded for valor in combat. The decoration is awarded primary to a member of US Navy, Marine corps, and the Coast Guard (when operating under the Department of the Navy) for extraordinary heroism. The medal is equivalent to the Army´s “Distinguished Service Cross”, “The Airforce Cross” and the “Coast Guard Cross”.
