This beautiful and intricately crafted Austrian cartouche bag is an impressive military artifact, probably from the 19th or early 20th century. Cartouche bags (also called cartridge bags) were traditionally carried by cavalry officers and sometimes by higher-ranking officers in the imperial army.

Description:

• Material: The bag has a silver-tone metal plate, decorated with the Austro-Hungarian imperial double-headed eagle, an emblem typical of the Habsburg monarchy.
• Decoration: The double-headed eagle is in gold with a central coat of arms containing the heraldic symbols of the Habsburg dynasty. The edges of the bag have beautiful gold-colored decorations, including stylized leaf details.
• Condition: The bag is in good collector’s condition with some signs of age and use, making it an authentic item of historical value. The size and interior has been modified from the original sized Austrian Cartouche Bags, to be larger and more useful for an officers cigar/tobacco holder. This was very common since the original use for cartouche bags where only decorative to the uniforms. The size are w- 11,5 cm, h- 8 cm.
