Order of Franz Joseph by V. Mayer – Knights Cross in bronze gilt and enamels, marked on the ring “V. Mayer,  mounted on original civil ribbon, of fine quality manufacture, good details and fine quality enamels, enamels with slight chipping on reverse center, in very fine condition. 

The Cross unfortunately has several enamel damages and restorations. The filled damages are most likely made with red seal-wax which was an “easy way” to repair damages without damaging undamaged enamel  and easy to remove at a later date then proper restoration could be made.
