Order of the Bath commanders breast star

The medallion is made of gilt bronze while the star is made of silver. This is an early private, French-made, ​ star from around 1830.

The holes at the tip of the upper and lower rays of the star indicates that it was sewn on, which is typical of early pieces. The receiver was probably decorated with an embroidered star that he made the star in metal for every day use. Later it was modified further with a needle and two hooks.

Condition: Very good except for some enamel damage to laurel wreath and on the blue banner.
