The Royal Victorian Order is an order established in 1896 by Queen Victoria of Great Britain in five classes and a medal in three classes. The order is awarded in recognition of personal services to the monarch, the reigning monarch of the Commonwealth of Nations, members of their family or one of their viceroys.
The order’s chapel is the Savoy Chapel, its official day is June 20 and its motto is Victoria, alluding to the order’s founder, Queen Victoria. There are no restrictions on the number of inductees and admission is a personal gift from the monarch, with each of the order’s five hierarchical classes and a three-level medal representing different levels of service.
