This medal is a Hungarian award from the Hungarian Ministry of the Interior (Belügyminisztérium). It bears the inscription “MAGYAR KÖZTÁRSASÁG” (Republic of Hungary) and “BELÜGY MINISZTÉRIUM” (Ministry of the Interior), along with the Hungarian coat of arms in the center.
It was awarded after the 2011 floods to rescue workers, volunteers, or officials who participated in the response to the disaster. Hungary was hit by severe floods in 2010 and 2011, and the government recognized the efforts of rescue workers and others who contributed to the relief effort.
