In 1969, the Presidential Council of the People’s Republic – on April 4, 1970 – awarded a commemorative medal for “25- th anniversary of the liberation of our country 1945 “For those “who achieved outstanding merit in the struggle for the birth of an independent, free and democratic Hungary, for freedom, democracy and socialism “. (Regulation of Law No. 38 of 1969)

The badge was designed by graphic artist István Pakurár.
