Original signed photograph of Sophia of Nassau (Sophia Wilhelmine Marianne Henriette; 9 July 1836 – 30 December 1913) was Queen of Sweden and Norway as the wife of King Oscar II. She was Queen of Sweden for 35 years. Queen Sophia funded the “Sophia Hemmet” nursing school the first of January 1884.
The Brooch for Queen Sophia’s Association, Nurse school is made of gilded silver and blue enamel. With Queen Sophia’s initials “D S F” surmounted by a regal, closed crown. The crown is filled with red enamel. Height of the letters: 14 mm. On the frame cartouches. On the back, the brooch pin is pierced by a band of red and white currants that is joined as a bow and visible from the front 7 mm. On the back punched “G.Möllenborg Kongl.Hovjuvelerare Stockholm.
