Sweden – Hussar officers schako, captains rank

Description

The officers schako was made of dark blue fabric and had a patent leather brim. At the top of the cap, around its upper edge was a cord covering in gold and dark blue silk. Around the upper part of the hill, there is also a certain number of gold laces which act as a rank designation.

On the front of the shako the m/1895 cavalry badge, with the lesser coat of arms which for officers was blue enameled. Pompon m/1895-1908 with the royal cipher in silver. Plume of black ostrich feathers m/1895.

This shako was used by all hussar regiments except for the Royal guard’s hussar regiment (Livgremenentets husarer K3), their laces were in silver.
