Sweden – National League of Voluntary Automobile Corps merit medal
Description
The medal was established on 30 November 1934. Silver gilt oval medal with crown suspension; the face with the head of King Gustaf VI Adolf looking left and circumscribed “GUSTAF VI ADOLF SVERIGES KONUNG” (Gustaf VI Adolf, King of Sweden).
The reverse with the arms of the National League of Voluntary Automobile Corps and the letters FAK (Frivilliga Automobilkåren) intertwined beneath a laurel wreath, beneath the laurel wreath the text in raised letters “For merit of the Voluntary Automobile Corps.
The maker’s mark “S&Co” for Sporrong & Co, hallmarked with an indistinct assay office mark, possibly City of Stockholm, the three crowns of Sweden and “S” silver control stamps and date-stamped “M9” (1960), on original ribbon.
