Description

The Order of created by King Fredrik I on 23 February 1748 to reward Swedish and foreign citizens for ‘civic merits, for devotion to duty, for science, literary, learned and useful works and for new and beneficial institutions.  

 

Two-piece construction, die-stamped silver, ball finials on the star points are reinforced which indicates that it is an early piece from ca 1830-1840. The five-pointed star on the obverse is a separate piece with reinforced plate on the reverse with folded pins, vertical pinback.
