01About Northstar Militaria

Northstar Militaria is operated by private collectors based in Sweden. The items offered originate primarily from our private collections.

Transactions are intended as sales between private individuals and are governed by Swedish law, including the Swedish Sale of Goods Act, unless mandatory law provides otherwise.

Northstar Militaria is not currently operated as a registered company. If the legal or organisational status of the activity changes, these Terms & Conditions will be updated accordingly.

02Items and descriptions

The objects offered by Northstar Militaria are mainly historical, collectible and previously owned items. Their age means that wear, patina, repairs, manufacturing variations and other signs of use may be present.

We make reasonable efforts to describe every item accurately and to provide clear photographs. Photographs form an important part of the description and should be examined carefully before an offer is accepted.

Colours may appear slightly different depending on lighting, photography and screen settings.

Measurements, especially for uniforms, clothing and equipment, are approximate and are provided as guidance. Buyers should compare the stated measurements with a suitable item of their own before accepting the final offer.

Each individual item is identified by its own SKU number.

03Order requests

Submitting an order request through the website does not create a binding purchase.

After an order request has been submitted:

  1. The requested item is temporarily reserved.
  2. We review the delivery address, parcel size, weight and available shipping services.
  3. We contact the buyer with one or more shipping options and the final total.
  4. The buyer may accept or decline the final offer.
  5. A binding agreement is formed only when the buyer expressly accepts the final offer or makes the requested payment.

The price shown at checkout does not include shipping unless expressly stated.

There is no obligation to pay when the initial order request is submitted.

04Reservations

An item connected to an order request may be marked ON HOLD while shipping and payment arrangements are being discussed.

Unless otherwise agreed, a reservation may be cancelled if:

  • the buyer does not respond within a reasonable time;
  • the final offer is declined;
  • payment is not received by the agreed deadline; or
  • communication with the buyer cannot be completed.

When a reservation is cancelled, the item may be made available again.

Submitting several order requests without completing or formally declining them may result in future requests being refused.

05Prices

All prices are displayed in Swedish kronor, SEK, unless otherwise stated.

Northstar Militaria is currently operated by private collectors and does not separately charge or display VAT.

Obvious typographical, technical or pricing errors do not bind either party. If an error is discovered, the buyer will be informed before a final offer is accepted.

Prices for sold items may be removed from the public product page.

06Shipping

Shipping is calculated individually because the size, weight, value, destination and packaging requirements vary substantially between items.

A small medal and a complete uniform may require entirely different shipping services, insurance and packaging.

We normally propose tracked shipping and, where reasonably available, appropriate insurance. Available options depend on the destination country and the restrictions imposed by the postal or courier service.

The final offer will state:

  • the selected or available shipping method;
  • the shipping cost;
  • the item price;
  • the final total; and
  • any known limitations relevant to the shipment.

The buyer is responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address.

We may decline to ship an item where transportation is prohibited, impractical, unsafe or subject to restrictions that cannot reasonably be satisfied.

Delivery times are estimates and may be affected by customs, local postal services, security checks and other circumstances outside our control.

↑ Back to top

07Customs, import restrictions and charges

The buyer is responsible for checking whether an item may legally be imported, owned or received in the destination country.

Customs duties, import taxes, handling fees and similar charges imposed outside Sweden are the buyer’s responsibility unless otherwise expressly agreed.

We do not declare false values, describe merchandise as a gift when it is not a gift, or provide misleading customs information.

If an item is returned because the buyer did not comply with import requirements or failed to pay customs charges, any refund may be reduced by shipping, return costs and other direct expenses, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

↑ Back to top

08Payment

Payment instructions and bank details are provided only after the buyer has accepted the final offer.

The buyer should not make payment before receiving our confirmation.

Unless otherwise agreed, payment must be made within the period specified in the final offer.

The buyer is responsible for any bank, currency conversion or international transfer charges charged by the buyer’s payment provider.

Ownership of the item remains with the seller until full payment has been received.

↑ Back to top

09Dispatch

An item is dispatched after cleared payment has been received, unless another arrangement has been expressly agreed.

The buyer will normally receive confirmation when the item has been sent and tracking information where available.

The buyer should inspect the parcel promptly upon delivery. Visible transport damage should be documented immediately with photographs of:

  • the outer packaging;
  • shipping labels;
  • internal packaging;
  • the damaged item; and
  • any visible impact or opening of the parcel.

All packaging should be retained while a transport claim is being investigated.

10Authenticity guarantee

Unless an item is expressly described otherwise, Northstar Militaria guarantees that it is genuine to the period and organisation stated in the product description, based on our knowledge and reasonable assessment at the time of sale.

If credible evidence demonstrates that an item is not authentic or has been materially misdescribed, the buyer should contact us promptly and provide the relevant documentation.

Where the claim is accepted, the item may be returned for a refund of the agreed purchase price and the original standard shipping cost.

This guarantee does not cover:

  • differences of scholarly opinion that cannot reasonably be resolved;
  • details already disclosed in the description or photographs;
  • ordinary wear, ageing or patina;
  • minor manufacturing variations;
  • later repairs or replacement components that were disclosed or clearly visible; or
  • damage occurring after delivery.

11Voluntary return policy

Although private sales do not automatically include a statutory right of withdrawal, Northstar Militaria voluntarily accepts return requests submitted within 14 days after confirmed delivery, subject to the following conditions.

Before returning an item, the buyer must contact us and receive return instructions.

The item must be:

  • returned in substantially the same condition as received;
  • securely packaged;
  • sent with tracking;
  • adequately insured where appropriate; and
  • returned with all components, documents and accessories originally supplied.

Unless the return concerns an accepted authenticity claim, material misdescription or an error on our part, the buyer is responsible for return shipping, insurance and related charges.

The original outward shipping cost is not normally refundable for a voluntary return.

A deduction may be made where the item has been handled beyond what was reasonably necessary to inspect it or has been damaged, altered, cleaned, repaired, disassembled or otherwise changed after delivery.

The return right does not apply to an item that has been specifically altered or adapted at the buyer’s request.

Refunds are issued after the returned item has been received and inspected.

12Complaints and problems

The buyer should contact us as soon as reasonably possible if:

  • the wrong item was received;
  • an item appears materially different from its description;
  • the parcel was damaged in transit;
  • parts are missing; or
  • there is a concern regarding authenticity.

The buyer should provide the order number, SKU number, a clear explanation and relevant photographs.

We will make reasonable efforts to resolve legitimate issues directly with the buyer.

The Swedish Sale of Goods Act normally applies to purchases between private individuals, but the specific agreement between buyer and seller takes precedence where the law permits.

13Cancellation by Northstar Militaria

We may decline or cancel an order request before a binding agreement has been formed.

A transaction may also be cancelled where:

  • the item is no longer available;
  • a material error exists in the description or price;
  • shipping is prohibited or not reasonably possible;
  • the buyer provides incomplete or apparently false information;
  • there is a reasonable concern regarding fraud, sanctions, unlawful export or unlawful import;
  • payment is not received as agreed; or
  • completion of the transaction would be unlawful.

Any payment already received for a cancelled transaction will be returned, less any non-refundable expenses caused by the buyer where permitted by law.

14Restricted and age-controlled items

Certain historical objects, including swords, daggers, knives or similar items, may be subject to age, import, ownership or transportation restrictions.

The buyer must be at least 18 years old to acquire an item where an age restriction applies.

We may request reasonable proof of age or identity before completing such a transaction.

We do not sell items for unlawful use and reserve the right to refuse any transaction where legal compliance is uncertain.

↑ Back to top

15Historical context

Items are offered solely for historical, collecting, educational and preservation purposes.

The sale or display of an item does not imply approval of the political ideology, organisation, government or historical events associated with it.

16Intellectual property

Unless otherwise stated, the photographs, descriptions, graphics and other original material published on the Northstar Militaria website may not be copied, republished, commercially used or systematically reproduced without prior written permission.

Product names and basic historical facts are not claimed as exclusive property, but our original photographs and written presentation remain protected.

17Personal information

Personal information submitted during an order request is used to:

  • administer the request;
  • communicate with the buyer;
  • calculate and arrange shipping;
  • process payment;
  • fulfil the agreed transaction;
  • prevent misuse and fraud; and
  • retain records required for legal, accounting or dispute-resolution purposes.

Further information is provided in our Privacy Policy.

18Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, neither party is liable for indirect or unforeseeable losses.

Northstar Militaria is not responsible for delays or failures caused by circumstances outside reasonable control, including postal disruption, customs delays, natural events, war, sanctions, strikes, system failures or government action.

↑ Back to top

19Governing law and disputes

These Terms and any completed transaction are governed by Swedish law, unless mandatory rules require otherwise.

The parties should first attempt to resolve any disagreement through direct communication.

If no solution can be reached, a dispute may be referred to a competent Swedish court or another forum required by mandatory applicable law.

20Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time.

The version applicable to a transaction is the version provided or available to the buyer when the final offer is accepted.

Later changes do not retroactively alter an already completed agreement.
