Sweden – Order of the Sword (Commander I class. star)

Description

The order of the sword was instituted on 23 February 1748 and was created by King Fredrik I. It is a purely military order. It could be awarded during war but was mostly awarded as a merit order for military personnel.

The star is called M1919 and was in use until 1952. Typically for this type is the fish scales on the arms of the star and the light blue enamel, before it was a dark blue see trough type.
